Our Work

Agriculture and Allied Industries

As the human population approaches 10 billion people by 2050 globally, agriculture & allied industries is poised to continue growth to meet the demand for food. Farming creates opportunities to lift people out of poverty in developing nations. Over 60 percent of the world's working poor works in agriculture & allied industries. Farming creates more jobs, beginning with farmers, and continuing with farm equipment makers, food processing plants, transportation, infrastructure and manufacturing.

India is an agricultural country. Agriculture & allied industries has always been one of the most important economic activities in India. With about two-thirds of the population engaged in agriculture and agriculture-related activities, it is important to understand the plight of farmers in India and why they are struggling to survive.

Sunahara Bharat Foundation has been extensively working in the field of agriculture & allied industries has years. We have been working with the farmers of rural Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in providing technical support, guiding farmers in choosing the best quality seeds for cultivation in the farm, as well as help them in soil testing process. Our main strength lies in building marketing linkage between the producer and the consumers. This helps the farmers get what they deserve out of their physical hard work and efforts. We have benefitted about 500 households so far with our intervention in the field. We also build their capacity to use modern technologies available. We help them to connect with various agri based startups.

Our team in the field stays in continuous touch with the farmers and keep monitoring their cultivation and provide the technical assistance in need. Once the harvesting period begins we link them with the market so that the farmers can directly sell their produce at the consumer level to do away with the practice of middleman taking a lion's share of their hard earned money that they deserve.
